Leonard N. Katz, is a financial services professional who has been helping people as a registered financial advisor and certified retirement counselor to improve the planning and coordination of their savings, spending, investing, insuring, wills, trusts, and estates. He has lived in Great Neck since 1971, in the Plaza since 2001. Leonard has held executive leadership positions in local, civic, religious, and international organizations. Among those are: President of the Rotary Club of Great Neck; Board Director, Executive Committee member and Chairman of the Legislative Action Committee of the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce; and Charter member of the Kiwanis Club of the Great Neck Peninsula.
We believe that the Village of Great Neck Plaza needs to be restored to a place where people want to live, work, dine and, shop in a beautiful, clean, viable and, safe environment.
We want to revitalize our village by improving the quality of life for all residents and seeing all our empty stores occupied.
By creating more transparency within our government, everyone will be able to see and understand what is happening in our village. Working together, we will bring Great Neck Plaza back to the high standards that we remember to once again become the premier destination point of the North Shore Gold Coast.
The entrepreneurial spirit that used to flourish and thrive in Great Neck Plaza needs to be restored. In our efforts to help merchants, we intend to work with Nassau County and the Town of North Hempstead to simplify and speed up the process of opening a business by minimizing the current local burdensome regulations and the time-wasting maze of paperwork that it entails.
We don’t think it necessary to have Trustees and a Mayor for life. We need term limits to assure that new people with new and creative ideas will have the opportunity to work for the betterment of our Village.
Let’s have more transparency within our government. Why should we have to fill out a form to ask for a copy of our Village budget details or the minutes of the Board meetings? It’s our money they’re spending! Why not put pertinent information on the internet for all of us to see?
Great Neck has been a great place for families to build roots and thrive in one of the most desirable communities. Our team is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents of our Village. We will listen to and address our constituents’ concerns sincerely, with the goal of restoring Great Neck Plaza to the high standards that we remember and deserve.
